Abdulmumin Jibrin suspended from the House of Reps for 180 days

The House of Representatives has successfully suspended Abdulmumin Jibrin, the sacked chairman of the House committee on Appropriation. Jibrin has been at loggerheads with the leadership of the house after his sack in July. He has overtime accused the speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, 3 principal officers and 9 other lawmakers of budget padding.

At the reopening of the house last week, he was mandated to appear before the house committee on Ethics and Privileges but he failed to do so.

The House today unanimously suspended him for 180 sitting and also barred him from positions of authority in the House till the end of the 8th assembly. That is almost 1 year suspension as the house only sits 3 days a week.
