Jackie Chan finally wins an Oscar Award after 56 years of acting (Photo)


After such a long film career that has seen him feature in over 200 movies. One of the the very successful Rush Hour franchise Jackie Chan finally had his golden moment at the Oscars yesterday as he was awarded an honorary Oscar trophy.
At the annual Governors Awards, the Chinese actor and martial arts star finally received his little gold statuette; an honorary Oscar for his decades of work in film.

As he received the award from his Rush Hour co-star Chris Tucker,Police Story co-star Michelle Yeoh and Hollywood legend Tom Hanks, Jackie Chan expressed his excitement at finally being able to claim an Oscar as his after he first saw it in Sylvester Stallone‘s house in 1993.‘After 56 years in the film industry, making over 200 films, I’ve broken so many bones, finally this is mine,’ he said.

The Governor’s Awards is hosted by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences – the same body that runs the Oscar ceremony every February, so Jackie is a bonafide Oscar Award winner.
