World's oldest man: 145 year old Indonesian man says his only one wish is to die (Photos)

 A 145-year-old Indonesian man who was born on New Year’s Eve, December 31 1870 and claimed to be the world’s oldest person says he just wants to die.

To prove how ready he is to leave this earth, Mbah Gotho bought his own gravestone over two decades ago.

On Tuesday, August 24, the Sragen, Central Java resident told Liputan 6, he has “been through it all and would not mind passing on. What I want is to die. My grandchildren are all independent.”

Suryanto, Mbah Gotho’s grandson, said since his grandfather was 122, he had been preparing for his death, but he never seemed to die.

Suryanto stated, “The gravestone there was made in 1992. That was 24 years ago.”

Indonesian official documents support Gotho’s claims as he has outlived ten siblings, four wives – the last of whom died in 1988 – and all of his children.

Now, he is survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Although his Indonesian ID card verifies his age, Gotho can only be listed in the world oldest person record if his records are independently verified.

Until he gets verified, Gotho will join the list of unverified world’s oldest people such as 171-year-old James Olofintuyi from Nigeria and 163-year-old Dhaqabo Ebba from Ethiopia.

The Sun UK, reports that the world oldest person was the French woman Jeanne Calment who lived to be 122.

Gotho doesn’t do anything these days besides listen to radio as his sights are too poor for TV. Due to how frail age has made him, he has to be spoon-fed and bathed by his grandchildren.

Mbah Gotho shared the secret to his longevity.

He said, “The recipe is just patience.”

Henceforth, we’ll be patient.
